Nightfall too soon?
In general I am happy with chapter 3 coming. Again 2 new professions for us to discover and a new pve world opening up.
But I heard a lot of reactions of PvP players saying that Nightfall comes too soon. Every1 knew nightfall would come 6 months after factions but still, everyone was a bit suprised about the announcement.
Some pvp minded ppl are thinking, again 2 new professions and again many new skills and we havn't even fully discovered the factions skills, professions and builds that can be played with assasin and ritualist.
After prophecies we had a full year to discover the possibilities of the existing proffesions and after that year there was a pretty balanced metagame and now everyone is still working on using and adapting the ass and rit to numerous builds being used in gvgs for example.
I think the pve minded ppl wll be happy with a new chapter every 6 months because there will be new content, weaps, armos,....
But maybe not every1 will like a new chapter every half year.
If they will release a new chapter every 6 months will there be enough time to fully discover every new profession and skills and will the new professions have enough impact and the metagame?
Maybe new profesions will be forgotten soon if there are too much profs.
Will the game become too complicated to balance everything?
But...money rules the world so 2 chapters every year will most likely assure a good amount of profit. I don't blame Anet for doing this. I respect them for working so hard with a pretty small devs team. They habe been working on Nightfall since November last year and if they are bringing out a chapter every 6 months they are working on chapter 4 too atm.
But maybe they can give us a year after Nightfall to give us a chance to fully discover Factions and Nightfall. This way Anet can spend even more time in working for the community and fanbase. There are allrdy doing a lot of community stuff for pve and pvp players (events, pvp weekends,gwfwc,...)
But sometimes I still feel that the communtiy is keeping itself alive too often because I think there sometims is a lack of direct feedback from Anet.
But anyway, I will enjoy Nightfall no mather what. Just my 2 cents
Grtz

No it's just in time, for people only doing PvE and played thru the game with several chars it's just what is needed.
I don't see why it has anything to do with money rules all.
I'm not sure if some people are either really young or very naive, but game makers actually have to make money to continue to make new content and give a profit.
Having staff work on tons of community stuff would make a big impact on the companys earnings.
I know you acknowlege in your post that they need to make money but somehow you want them to do stuff for free.
And in my opinion Anets interaction with the community is pretty good, compared to most other gamemakers - I can't think of many that are much better.
Anyway most people should be able to buy new game every 6 months, and if they don't want to buy it they have to.

if your in to pvp harcore you kinda have to keep up with eveyrone else to be effective...
it seems clear that a core character tend to be outmatch by the same class with the new skill sets...
im getting a kick out of have 2 versions of my swordsmanship skills...

Nightfall seems to be just in time imo. I'm getting kind of bored of the content that factions offers..Hardcore PvP players should have no problem with the new chapter.

Thats what I mean. They make a chapter every 6 months to make money because they dont have montly profit from fees.
10$ every month or 50$ every 6 months is almost the same you know.
But what i mean is that, will they do everything to just bring out a chapter every 6 months or will they make sure it will be high quality and balanced gaming.
They can't make new professions every 6 months. We would have over 20 professions within a few years. And to keep the game balanced with over 20 professions is really hard. Or they have to make useless professions wich dont really contribute much to the game.

Small development teams are the way to go! Example: Chris Sawyer & Locomotion/Transport Tycoon/Rollercoaster Tycoon....Simple ideas but sodding addictive. Large development teams seem to make games too complicated. I am very much looking forward to Nightfall - I'm not heavily into PvP so a new PvE story sounds fun to me.

Exactly - It's there if people want it, but they don't need to feel as though they HAVE to buy it as soon as it comes out!

I heard that they will quit making new professions if they cant think of new professions anymore. Then there will only be made new content and stuff. There will come a new world and new missions and stuff and other weapons.

I hope chapter 4 doesnt introduce any new classes. I love to see new content, and Nightfall is something pve players need to keep entertained, but if new proffessions were released every chapter the pvp players would not have enough time to explore all the new proffessions.

And this is a bad thing? I think its good that there isn't enough time to figure out everything the new professions can do. It keeps the competition alive and you see people trying new things instead of just the same old junk over and over again. As far as new professions go, I really think they will stop being added soon. There are only so many things they can do for professions and didn't they say somewhere that only the core professions would be supported in each new chapter? Meaning no new skills for the sin and rit in nightfall? If this is the case then any new professions will slowly die away and they will become useless anyway.

Guild Wars became a bit boring to me, because I don't like Factions, so I am glad that they hastened the new chaper. Maybe chapter three will be better but I guess wishfull thinking doesn't help much.

Actually you have all the time in the world to explore all the professions. There's no monthly fee, so until they shut down the GW servers years from now, you have plenty of time.

I don't think its too soon, since I've already completed Factions with at least one of my characters
I just hope the PvE is much better this time around, as Factions wasn't that great.
